Las Vegas, June 22: Cirque du Soleil celebrates the legacy of The Beatles
in a new show at The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"Love" is a colorful 90-minute program featuring
performances by the Canadian-based acrobatic and theatrical
troupe set to actual Beatles recordings.
"I was given a wild brief, really, because they said to
me `make this 90 minute panorama of sound using any sound
you like from anything you ever recorded with The
Beatles`," says Sir George Martin, Music Director of "Love"
and former Beatles producer.
The custom built theater at The Mirage features
features 360 degree seating, panoramic video projections
and surround sound designed to completely engulf the
audience in the music of one of the 20th century`s most
influential rock bands.
"Beatles fans, from this show, are going to get a sense
of being sort of enveloped in Beatles music, enveloped in
all the recordings that they did, because we`re trying to,
we try to throw in songs from different eras on top of
other songs, and true fans are going to go ` what was that?
What did we hear there?` and people who aren`t, who just
know the songs are gonna just go `I love this song, that`s
great`," says Giles Martin, Music Director of "Love."
