Sourav auctions bat for young boy`s treatment

Sourav Ganguly yesterday raised Rs 16.5 lakh for the liver transplant of a Siliguri boy by auctioning his bats.

16.5 lakh for the liver transplant of a Siliguri boy by
auctioning his bats.

Raj Goswami, who is suffering from a serious liver
disease and requires Rs 15 lakh for the transplant, is under
treatment at a Delhi hospital.

It took just 19 minutes for Ganguly to raise the funds
for Raj, who comes from an impoverished family.

Ganguly's bats were purchased in the auction by among
others industrialist Harsh Neotia, who snapped up one for Rs
two lakh.

West Bengal Urban Development Minister Ashok Bhattacharya
bought another for Rs 5,000.
