Tata Archery`s technical director resigns

Technical Director of Tata Archery Academy (TAA) V V S N Rao has resigned due to the absence of retention policy of award winning archers in the institute.

Jamshedpur (Jharkhand): Technical Director of Tata Archery Academy (TAA) V V S N Rao has resigned due to
the absence of retention policy of award winning archers in the institute. "I joined TAA to promote archery but long-term plan for 2012 Olympics remained unheeded as the private steel major did not have any retention policy for award winning archers," Rao who is in New Delhi, said today. He submitted resignation to Tata Steel authorities recently with one month notice and would leave TAA on January 1. "I wanted to nurture the award winning archers and prepare them for the next Olympics," he said. Majority of the ace archers including Rahul Banerjee, Jayanta Talukdar, Atanu Das, Rimil Biruli, V Pranitha, Laxmirani Majhi have either got offers from Railways or would leave TAA soon, he said. Earlier, Rao said, several star players including Namita Yadav (Compound) left TAA and joined Railways. PTI
