Lucknow, Jan 15: About a month after getting the hostels vacated following incidents of violence on the campus, Lucknow University authorities are busy giving final shape to
the work of fresh allotment of hostels to bonafide students.
The first list of the allottees is likely to be decided soon, varsity sources said.
Security arrangements have been beefed up in and around the campus in apprehension of protests from students, who are not alloted hostels, the sources said.
The university authorities are taking all precautions to avoid any protest by those who are denied the facility.
The list is being prepared keeping in mind that no criminal element gets entry into the hostels, they said.
The university was closed sine die on December 8 after student leaders resorted to protests over implementation of the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations for students union polls and all its hostels were evacuated.
