Lucknow: Noted election strategist Prashant Kishor, who was hired by the Congress to help it win the crucial assembly elections in five states, is reportedly untraceable after the party's humiliating defeat in Uttar Pradesh.

According to media reports, a poster had been put up outside the party office in Lucknow, announcing a reward of Rs 5 lakh for anyone who finds Prashant Kishor and brings him before party workers.

The poster had been put up by Rajesh Singh, a Congress leader from Ballia district.

Singh, a secretary in the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, claimed to have put up the poster on behalf of “all Congressmen”.

Singh claimed that party workers needed some answers this time.

“For the last one year, we have been made to work like fools… without asking any questions. We were told to work as he (Kishor) wanted us to without any ifs and buts… we did so thinking that probably it was best for the revival of the party. But now we need answers,” Singh was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.

Meanwhile, Congress state president Raj Babbar had asked the party workers to immediately remove it.

Talking to reporters later, Babbar claimed that it was too early to blame anyone for the poll debacle.
