Another Class 9 student found dead in mysterious circumstances in top Karnataka school

BENGALURU: A Class 9 student of a top military school in Karnataka's Kodagu district was found dead under mysterious circumstances. The minor's body was discovered in the washroom on Saturday. The incident comes a day after another Class 9 student was found dead with multiple stab wounds inside the school toilet in Gujarat’s Vadodara.

The 14-year-old boy was found unconscious in the school toilet. School authorities rushed him to a government hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The child's father, who's a hockey coach in the same school, has claimed that his son was being harassed by few members of the staff. He had raised the issue with the Vice-Principal but his complaints were ignored.

A case of murder under various sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered.

According to reports, vice principal and four staff members of the school are under the police scanner.

The boy's family, along with locals, later staged a protest in front of the school.

On Friday, another 14-year-old child – a Class 9 student – was found dead with multiple stab wounds in the washroom of the school. The victim had stab wounds on his body. A day after, Gujarat Police arrested a Class 10 boy for allegedly murder. The accused, 17, has been held under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.

Last year, seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur was found murdered inside the toilet in Gurgaon's Ryan International School. The incident evoked nationwide outrage. The Central Bureau of Investigation later arrested a senior student of the same school for the murder.
