We are back with DC's reply with the bat!

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Right then, it’s truly been a tale of two contrasting halves for LSG, and they will surely be disappointed with how their innings tapered off. With 159 on the board, they’ve got something to bowl at, but early wickets will be absolutely crucial if they’re to stay in the contest. The big question now is the dew. If it sets in, defending could get a lot trickier. Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, will back themselves in this chase. They’ve got form on their side and the confidence of ha

Ayush Badoni of LSG is down for a chat. He says that the wicket is on the slower side but feels that they are a few runs short and reckons that 180 would have been a par score. Adds that executing the right plans with the ball and fielding well could help them in the second innings. Ends by saying that he hopes they can defend the total like they did in the last game.

Ayush Badoni, coming in as the Impact Player and ahead of Rishabh Pant, provided a valuable late push with some innovative strokeplay, helping LSG inch past the 150 mark. However, Mukesh Kumar finished what he started, striking twice in the final over to cap off an excellent spell and ensure LSG were restricted to a manageable total.

But the momentum shifted post the strategic break. Dushmantha Chameera broke the opening stand, dismissing Markram shortly after his fourth half-century of the season. That breakthrough opened the floodgates. From a commanding 87/0, LSG found themselves suddenly on the back foot at 110/4, Mukesh Kumar triggering a collapse with a sharp double-wicket over.

Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram set the tone early for Lucknow Super Giants with a commanding start, going after the Delhi Capitals’ bowlers from the outset. While Axar Patel kept things tight during his early spell, bowling himself out inside the first half, the rest of DC’s bowling rotation struggled to find rhythm, conceding freely. Fielding lapses didn’t help their cause either, allowing LSG to race away to 51/0 at the end of the Powerplay.
