Welcome back for LSG's response with the bat. The official IPL pet, CHAMPAK, leads the way for the two umpires who walk out.
... THE RUN CHASE ...
Right then, 237 is the number that Lucknow Super Giants need to get their 2025 IPL campaign back on track, but it will be a pressure chase, with a lot riding on those top 3 batters. Punjab will know that the ball flies here and even 236 might not be defendable, but they will feel much more comfortable right now. Stick around as the crucial run chase is up next.
Prabhsimran Singh, the star of Punjab's batting innings, is down for a chat. He says that he has full confidence from his last inning, and both the openers, he and Priyansh Arya, are getting good starts, and he is happy that he capitalized on that start today. Mentions that the batters, including him, Shreyas, and Arya, are just trying to hit the ball on merit, and he gives all the credit to the coach, Ricky Ponting, for this approach. States that he just got a chance when he was trying to scor
Looking at the bowling figures of the LSG bowlers, there is just one bowler who stands out. Even while bowling first, they only had five proper bowlers and it was the incoming Akash Singh who impressed. He picked up Arya early on and then came back to dismiss Inglis as well. However, there was no control in the middle overs, and then the likes of Mayank Yadav and Avesh Khan were hit for 60 and 57 runs respectively in each of their 4 overs. Avesh had an outing to forget with lapses in the fie
For once, that opening combination for PBKS didn't work out as Priyansh Arya fell in the first over but Prabhsimran Singh and especially Josh Inglis came hard at the LSG bowlers. Inglis lived on the edge and fell inside the Powerplay after a fiery cameo as Singh carried on. Shreyas Iyer joined Prabhsimran and the pair put on 78 runs before Iyer got out a few runs short of his fifty. The incoming batters just kept on striking big from ball one but it was the stand between Prabhsimran and Shash
That is a brute showing from Punjab Kings with the bat and they have put on a monumental score of 236 runs on the board. It is also their highest score against LSG, and on a ground where PBKS haven't had the best of memories, they have given their bowlers as many runs as they can to defend.

Avesh Khan to Shashank Singh, ! What a shot! Fired in fuller, and wide of off, Shashank Singh first shapes to play the scoop shot, but gets a bit too across off, and just adjusts his shot with a reverse ramp for a boundary at deep third.

Prabhsimran Singh has been out there from the start and with the likes of Marcus Stoinis, Azmatullah Omarzai and Shashank Singh all still to come, PBKS will be targeting somewhere around the 210 mark. LSG can stem the flow of runs by taking wickets, but forcing it too much could go against them. A crucial final few overs of the first innings coming up.
Prince Yadav to Nehal Wadhera, ! CASTLED! A ripper of a delivery from Prince to dismiss Nehal Wadhera! He nails the yorker in, on the leg stump line, Nehal Wadhera gets a bit too across to play the lap shot, but does not get any bat on it. Earlier in the first match of today's doubleheader, Kolkata Knight Riders have defeated Rajasthan Royals by the smallest margin of 1 run in a dramatic thriller match. Looking at the bowling figures of the LSG bowlers, there is just one bowler who stands out. However, there was no control in the middle overs, and then the likes of Mayank Yadav and Avesh Khan were hit for 60 and 57 runs respectively in each of their 4 overs.

Earlier in the first match of today's doubleheader, Kolkata Knight Riders have defeated Rajasthan Royals by the smallest margin of 1 run in a dramatic thriller match. Firstly, they made a good total of 206/4, courtesy of the top-order contribution and a late flourish by Andre Russell with the bat. After that, in the second inning, KKR were clinical with the ball too, managing to pick up the first five wickets of RR at a score of just 71. But then Riyan Parag played the biggest knock of his IPL

Welcome back for LSG's response with the bat. The official IPL pet, CHAMPAK, leads the way for the two umpires who walk out.

Right then, 237 is the number that Lucknow Super Giants need to get their 2025 IPL campaign back on track, but it will be a pressure chase, with a lot riding on those top 3 batters.

The incoming batters just kept on striking big from ball one but it was the stand between Prabhsimran and Shash
