SATHI launches 'Swatch Bharat Force'

 Social Action Through Integrated Network (SATHI) has launched a Swatch Bharat Force (SBF) initiative to strengthen 'Clean India' drive.

Kadapa: Social Action Through Integrated Network (SATHI) has launched a Swatch Bharat Force (SBF) initiative to strengthen 'Clean India' drive.

Goa Governor Mridula Sinha is the president of SATHI which provides a platform to different voluntary organisations working for the upliftment of general masses.

"She (the governor) is very keen to coordinate good voluntary organisations which are extending their service for the betterment of society and build SBF to fulfil objectives behind the 'Swatch Bharat Abhiyan'," its South India Incharge Srinivasa Reddy told PTI here.

Under the initiative, SBF will be built from village to state level.

"The organising member at every level will be called SATHI SBF commander and will work according to the district level committee. The organisation will coordinate with people and officials to make India clean," said Reddym also Vice-chairman of Confederation of Rural India (CNRI).

In the first phase, the initiative will be launched in Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, Warangal and Nalgonda in Telangana, Karur, Kanyakumari and Madurai in Tamil Nadu, Hubli in Karnataka and in Union Territories of Puducherry and Goa.

Reddy said the second phase of the SBF initiative will be implemented in all districts of these states and UTs.

"The chief patron of SATHI and Goa Governor Mridula Sinha, who is committed to build healthy and wealthy rural India, will monitor the programme and guide the SBF to realise the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi," Reddy added.
