London: Do you remember Arshad Khan, the blue-eyed Pakistani 'chaiwala' who had set the internet on fire earlier this year due to his 'killer' looks! This young Pakistani heartthrob has now made it to the 'Sexiest Asian of 2016' list.
According to reports, the young Pakistani tea-seller, who had won several modelling contracts ever since his pictures went viral on the social media, has been ranked 31 on the list.
He is the first man ever to be included as an editor's choice.
"Impoverished teenager Arshad Khan broke the Internet earlier this year when his photograph serving tea sent females around the world into a frenzy, " said Asjad Nazir of Eastern Eye – the London-based weekly newspaper – which conducted the annual poll.
He has since been plucked from obscurity and gained global media attention along with a new career in modelling. He makes the list for representing the everyday man and for showing the most impossible dream can come," said Nazir.
Singer Zayn Malik has been voted as the sexiest Asian of 2016 beating Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, who came second on the list.
The is the second consecutive year that Zayn, 23, is on top of the list. The former 'One Direction' member won the annual poll conducted by 'Eastern Eye' in 2015 as well.
"The singer/songwriter showed comprehensively there was life after boy band 'One Direction' with a rip-roaring start to his solo career.''
"It was as if he struck a match, casually threw it at the world and stepped back to watch a wildfire sweep across the continents with his songs burning up the charts," said Asjad Nazir.
The third spot on the list went to Pakistani actor Fawad Khan with Indian television star Ashish Sharma and superstar Salman Khan completing the top five in the poll conducted on social media.
Others in the 2016 top 10 include TV and film actors Barun Sobti (6), Shahid Kapoor (7), Vivian Dsena (8), Ali Zafar (9) and Ranveer Singh (10).
The highest placed newcomer in this year's list is 24-year-old Indian television actor Param Singh (19). Shah Rukh Khan was on number 17 in the list.
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who will make her Hollywood debut in soon-to-be-released thriller "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage," had last week topped the '50 Sexiest Asian Women' list for the first time.
