NDFB(S) militant in connection with Assam massacre held in Bengaluru

Bangalore City Police recently arrested a National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Songbijit) militant who was wanted in connection with the recent massacre in Assam.

Bengaluru: Bangalore City Police recently arrested a National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Songbijit) militant who was wanted in connection with the recent massacre in Assam.

Police nabbed Sanju Bordoloi alias Sibi Giri on Monday from his hideout in the Electronic City police station limits.

"This person is involved in a number of cases including the recent massacre in Assam. He is wanted in two cases by the Assam Police and one case by the National Investigation Agency (NIA)," Police Commissioner, MN Reddi said.

According to the police, the militant was hiding in a house in Bangalore since January 21.

"He has been picked up and being questioned as to whether there are any other associates of his who may be still hiding in Bangalore," Reddi added.

Reddi also said that the city police was waiting for the Assam police team to come and take charge of the NDFB (S) militant.

He further said that number of pre-activated SIM cards was also found from the apprehended militant.

"We have also registered a case against Vodafone Company in crime number 77 of 2015 of Electronic City Police Station wherein a number of pre-activated SIM cards were found and that is connected to this particular person who has been secured by us.

Earlier on January 23, another NDFB militant, Burlung Buthur was nabbed by the Bangalore City Police.
