Former RJD leader joins JD(U)

In a boost to JD(U) in the run up to Maharajganj Lok Sabha bypoll, a former RJD leader Kameshwar Kumar Singh on Sunday joined the ruling party.

Patna: In a boost to the JD(U) in the run up to Maharajganj Lok Sabha seat bypoll next week, a former RJD leader Kameshwar Kumar Singh on Sunday joined the ruling party along with hundreds of supporters.

At a function held in the state unit JD(U) office, Singh and his supporters were welcomed into the ruling party-fold by its president Vashistha Narayan Singh, the Water Resources Department (WRD) Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and others senior leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, the state unit JD(U) chief said that the ex-RJD leader`s joining will boost the prospects of the party nominee P.K. Shahi in the Maharajganj Lok Sabha seat bypoll to be held on June two next.

Singh had contested the last assembly polls from Ekma constituency in Saran district and polled about 27,000 votes to finish behind the eventual winner and the Information and Technology Minister Gautam Singh.
