New Delhi: RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav visited SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's residence in Lucknow on Sunday to perform the “shagun” ceremony to perform “shagun” ceremony ahead of his daughter Raj Lakshmi's wedding.

Marriage details including fixing a date for the wedding is also likely to be decided today.

Lalu's youngest daughter Raj Lakshmi will be getting married to Mulayam's grandson MP Tej Pratap Singh.

Lalu along with wife Rabri, son Tejasvi, daughter Misa and other relatives visited Lucknow today.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, SP national general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav, senior cabinet minister Shivpal Singh Yadav and other family members would be present.

The ring ceremony is scheduled to be held in the national capital on December 16.

The two Yadavs are in the forefront of consolidation of opposition forces, bringing six constituents of the erstwhile ‘Janata Parivar’ under the banner of one party.

These parties include SP, Janata Dal (Secular), Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janata Dal (United), Indian National Lok Dal and Samajwadi Janata Party.
