XLRI to honour Nitish Kumar during annual convocation

XLRI School of Business and Human Resource, Jamshedpur has decided to honour Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with the prestigious Sir Jehangir Ghandy medal for Industrial and Social Peace 2011.

Minister Nitish Kumar with the prestigious Sir Jehangir Ghandy
medal for Industrial and Social Peace 2011.
The medal will be presented to him during the 55th
Annual Convocation of XLRI Jamshedpur tomorrow, a XLRI release
today said.

The decision to confer the medal to Kumar was taken by
the XLRI?s Board of Governors to recognize his inclusive
vision as the architect of Bihar’s turnaround story.

Within a short span of five years, his policy
initiatives, such as fast track courts, bicycle and meal
programs, have led to a high State GDP growth rate, along with
lessening of crime and poverty at the grass-root level, the
release claimed.

Kumar will be the 43rd recipient of this Medal, with a
list of past recipients which includes V Kurien, Rajmohan
Gandhi, Jyoti Basu, JRD Tata, Missionaries of Charity, Justice
PN Bhagwati, Azim Premji, NA Palkhivala among many others.
The Convocation Speech to the graduating batch, about
240 students from the XLRI Jamshedpur?s India campus, and
about 60 from its Dubai and Singapore campuses, will be
delivered by Vineet Nayar, CEO of HCL Technologies.
