Chennai: Sheikh Mydeen, who had shot to fame due to his striking resemblance to our beloved former president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, paid his tribute to the departed leader on his first death anniversary on Wednesday.

Sheikh Mydeen also interacted with school children and posed for photographers after attending a host of events organised to mark the occasion.

 

Earlier, Union Ministers Venkaiyah Naidu and Manohar Parrikar laid the foundation stone for a national memorial dedicated to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu.

 

 

Besides unveiling his life-size statue, the two union ministers also released a 3D model of the memorial.

An exhibition named "Mission of Life" depicting the life of Dr Kalam and his achievements towards nation building was also inaugurated.
