Raipur: A Chhattisgarh Armed Force jawan was injured in a landmine explosion triggered by Naxals in the state's insurgency-hit Bijapur district on Tuesday.
The rebels exploded the landmine near Murdunda village under Awapalli Police Station limits when a road opening party of CAF was conducting its task, Bijapur Superintendent of Police KL Dhruv said.
While cordoning off the region, located around 400 kms from the state capital, the security forces reached near Murdunda where the explosion occurred in which jawan Pankaj Thakur was injured, he said.
The injured jawan was shifted to a local hospital for treatment, he said.
Combing operation has been launched in the region to nab the attackers, the SP said.
