New Delhi: Sending out a message to people, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his cabinet minister will carpool to work during the 15 days of odd-even scheme starting January 1.

Announcing the blueprint of road-rationing experiment, Kejriwal said that carpooling was the only solution to cope with the odd-and-even number scheme.

"I will share the cars and I will do carpooling. It is the most practical thing," the Chief Minister said.

 

Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai said that all the Delhi government ministers and officers will follow the scheme from January 1 to January 15.

"During 15 days of odd-even scheme, I will carpool with my cabinet colleagues to reach Delhi Secretariat," Rai said.

Delhi Home Minister Satyendar Jain, who is also nodal officer for fighting pollution in the national capital, said that he will carpool to his work to encourage people to share their cars.

In next two-three days, Delhi government will launch a carpooling app so that people can use share their cars during the scheme.
