Delhi youth asks for extra sauce, is thrashed by eatery owner

A 24-year-old youth was admitted to ICU after being thrashed allegedly by the owner of an eatery after he asked for extra sauce in east Delhi's Trilokpuri area.

New Delhi: A 24-year-old youth was admitted to ICU after being thrashed allegedly by the owner of an eatery after he asked for extra sauce in east Delhi's Trilokpuri area.

The accused identified as Kamal (40) has been booked under Section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and arrested by the police.

However, Kamal narrated another version of the story and a cross FIR has also been registered in this connection.

The police has booked the victim, identified as Sunny (24) along with his friends under Sections 323 (causing hurt) and 341 (wrongful restraint) of IPC.

According to the victim's statement, Kamal allegedly started hitting Sunny (24) indiscriminately with a rod when the later kept asking him for more chutney, despite being told that it has been finished.

Both the accused and victim are residents of Trilokpuri area. According to Kamal's complaint, when Sunny was denied chutney, he started abusing Kamal.

This turned into a heated argument and soon snowballed into a fist fight. Sunny then dialled a few numbers and allegedly summoned his local friends to thrash Kamal.

"When Kamal's wife Nemwati and teenager son Akash tried to intervene, they were also allegedly beaten up by the youths.

"Although Kamal allegedly ended up hitting Sunny with a rod and he collapsed," said a police official quoting Kamal's complaint.

Sunny was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital soon after the incident from where his family later shifted him to a private hospital where he was admitted in the intensive care unit, said a police official.
