Delhi's PWD secretary transferred to Andaman & Nicobar Islands

Senior IAS officer Arun Baroka, who was holding charge of PWD Secretary in the city, was on Tuesday relieved from his duty by the AAP government.

New Delhi: Senior IAS officer Arun Baroka, who was holding charge of PWD Secretary in the city, was on Tuesday relieved from his duty by the AAP government.

Baroka, who was also holding additional charge of Secretary of Administrative Reforms Department and Secretary of Information Technology Department, has been transferred to Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

In April, Home Ministry had issued a transfer order of Baroka and two other IAS officers - SCL Das and SS Yadav. However, on the request of Delhi government, the Ministry gave Baroka an extension till May 31.

"Baroka is relieved from this government (Delhi government) with immediate effect, to enable the officer to join Andaman & Nicobar Islands Administration," AAP government said in its order.
