New Delhi: A 22-year-old youth was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl here, police said Sunday.
Amjad Khan, a tailor, was arrested and sent to 14 days of judicial custody. The incident was reported from east Delhi`s Chilla village, near Mayur Vihar, Saturday.
Police said the 16-year-old girl was a friend of Amjad and they knew each other for the past several months.
"The girl had gone to meet Amjad at his shop, where he raped her," said a police officer.
The girl and her parents approached the police and lodged a complaint of rape against Amjad.
