A 60-year-old press secretary of former president Pratibha Patil was allegedly robbed of her gold chain by two unidentified men near Lodhi Garden in the high security Lutyens' Delhi Friday morning.

New Delhi: A 60-year-old press secretary of former president Pratibha Patil was allegedly robbed of her gold chain by two unidentified men near Lodhi Garden in the high security Lutyens' Delhi Friday morning.

The victim, Archana Datta who had also served as Director General of Doordarshan and AIR, said that the incident took place around 7 am when she was going to Lodhi Garden for a morning walk.

"When I was going to Lodhi Garden at around 7.10 am, two unidentified men on a scooter snatched my gold chain and fled the spot within seconds," Datta said.

She reached gate number 4 of Lodhi Garden after the incident and made a PCR call.

An FIR has been registered against unknown persons at Tuglak Road police station, following the complaint by Datta.

"We have registered an FIR against the unidentified duo. We are also scanning footage of CCTVs installed in nearby area to identify the accused and investigation is on," a senior police official said.

Datta claimed that she also received few scratches on her neck in the incident.
