New Delhi: The Ryan International School management on Wednesday denied reports that it had exhorted its students and teachers to join the BJP, saying the educational institution was only promoting the government`s `Swacch Bharat Abhiyan`.

"School purely believes in providing education and we were very much part of the Prime Minister`s `Swacch Bharat Abhiyan` where we were very strongly supporting this campaign. We had no intention of creating some kind of BJP movement, it was purely a `Swacch Bharat` membership Abhiyan where our staff has contributed so much," said Sudha Singh, Senior Executive, Ryan International School.

"So, we wanted them to just give a thank you kind of thing by being associated with that campaign," she added.

The school also denied reports that it sent out messages on WhatsApp to parents and teachers providing a toll-free number for the BJP`s membership.

"Any WhatsApp message cannot be taken as an authentic message, anybody can WhatsApp anything, so we don`t consider that at all. As far as salary is concerned, no where anyone has any right to stop the salary. It has never been done and will never be done," she said.

The Delhi Government has issued a show cause notice to the school over the membership drive reports with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia ordering the Deputy Director-level officer to conduct a probe in this regard.
