New Delhi: The Supreme Court will today hear a plea of the Delhi Government challenging the Delhi High Court judgment as per which Delhi continues to be a Union Territory and the Lieutenant Governor its administrative head.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court had adjourned the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)`s original suit on wanting administrative control of Delhi which was filed on June 29.


The Delhi government informed the Supreme Court that it will file a Special leave Petition (SLP) against the high court order within a week.


The apex court will hear AAP government`s original suit and SLP against the Delhi High Court`s judgment on interpretation of Article 239 AA of the Indian Constitution.


Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi has also said that the Delhi Government can`t claim two remedies at one time.
