New Delhi: Congress on Monday urged Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung to immediately stop the pulling off of e-rickshaws from roads and threatend agitation if this was not done.

In a letter to the LG, Delhi unit Congress requested him to direct the transport department and the police not to end the service of battery-operated rickshaws plying in the national capital.
"If these battery-operated rickshaws are removed from roads, Congress leaders and workers will start an agitation," DPCC chief Mukesh Sharma said.
Sharma also said e-rickshaws were introduced during Congress rule to reduce pollution in Delhi and also to stop the labourious job of paddling cycle rickshaws.

"Kejriwal was shedding crocodile tears for e-rickshaw drivers by meeting the L-G so that they could be used to serve his political end," he added.
