Student killed as mini-bus overturns near Wazirabad

A class XII student was killed and 11 people, including eight children, were injured today when an overspeeding mini-bus overturned while the driver was negotiating a curve in the Capital, police said.

when an overspeeding mini-bus overturned while the driver was
negotiating a curve in the Capital, police said.

The incident took place at the diversion near the
Signature Bridge at Wazirabad at around 7:25 AM. The deceased
has been identified as Manjeet (12), a student of Sarvodaya
Vidyalaya in Timarpur.

"The mini-bus lost balance while turning left and
toppled killing Manjeet on the spot," a senior police official
said. Manjeet resides in Sonia Vihar.

Eight students of various schools and three men were
also injured in the incident, the official said.

The driver, Bittoo, has been arrested and a case of
rash and negligent driving has been registered against him.
