New Delhi: A 20-year-old IT student was
stabbed to death near his South Delhi residence, police said Friday.
Shobit Modi was found stabbed near a gate of his
colony in Vasant Kunj at around 10 PM last night and was
rushed to Fortis Hospital where he was declared brought dead,
a senior police official said.
Shobit was a second year student of Information
Technology in Manav Rachna University in Faridabad. His father
Suraj Modi is a general manager in Mines and Minerals Trading
Corporation.
"Shobit was stabbed four times. His i-pod, costly
wrist watch and purse was found near his body," the official
said.
Investigators said robbery does not appear to be the
motive as his belongings were found near his body. "We are
investigating all angles including personal rivalry," they
said.
