Three Delhi residents were killed and two seriously injured when their car collided with a truck near Badli town in the district on Saturday, police said.

Jhajjar: Three Delhi residents were killed and two seriously injured when their car collided with a truck near Badli town in the district on Saturday, police said.

Rewati, Manoj and Indu of Khaira village in Delhi succumbed to their injuries in hospital. Reeta and Nirmala are undergoing treatment and their condition is stated to be critical, a police spokesman said.

The mishap took place when Manoj along with four others was travelling to Kosli town in Rewari, he said.

As the car reached near Dariyapur turn, it rammed into a truck which was crossing the road from an approach road.

The car caught fire due to collision while the truck driver managed to flee the spot, police said.

Passersby rushed the car occupants to a hospital in Jhajjar town.

"A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against unidentified truck driver who is absconding since the accident," said Badli police station incharge.
