Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s Art Of Living organises mass plantation drive in Gurgaon

Gurgaon: Art of Living (AOL), the world’s biggest voluntary organization founded in 1981 by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, this week organised a mass plantation drive across Gurgaon, Haryana, on the occasion of Buddha Purnima.

The Forest Department (Haryana) gave wings to AOL’s noble step of planting more than 2000 trees across various sectors of Gurgaon.

The drive was inspired by the call from Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to protect the environment.

A dream of greener Gurgaon seen just three days before aimed to plant only 1,100 trees, but with the enthusiasm of almost 60 volunteers, it took a giant shape when the numbers crossed more than 2000 till Friday afternoon, covering a good number of dispensaries, residential societies, parks, government and private schools.

And as the AOL is gearing up for the World Cultural Festival in 2016, this Plantation Drive is likely to plant thousands of trees in the coming future.
