Terming Rahul Gandhi's 'Rs 10-lakh suit' jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a "non-issue", Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Friday charged he has taken the level of politics to "a new low."

New Delhi: Terming Rahul Gandhi's 'Rs 10-lakh suit' jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a "non-issue", Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Friday charged he has taken the level of politics to "a new low."

"It is a non-issue. By giving such manufactured figures, the level of politics has been lowered in the country through this statement," he said.

Rahul had, while addressing an election rally yesterday, said "He (Modi) had said I will bring back crores of black money, will deposit Rs 15 lakh in every account. I want to ask you, did you get Rs 15 lakh? You didn't get anything but Modi wore a suit worth Rs 10 lakh during Obama's visit."

The pinstripe 'bandhgala suit' Modi wore on Sunday last during his talks with US President Barack Obama in Hyderabad House had his name embroidered all over it, triggering a debate in the social media.
