New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party MPs, who have not yet declared their assets, have again been advised to do so.
At the BJP's parliamentary board meeting on Tuesday morning, all BJP MPs were told to declare their assets on Parliament's website latest by tomorrow.
While PM Modi was not present at the meet to issue diktat – he is in Jharkhand to address an election rally – it is well known that he considers the move as key to providing good governance and fighting black money.
The diktat comes just weeks before the government celebrates Good Governance Day on December 25, on the occasion of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birthday.
It is not the first time that such a deadline has been issued to BJP parliamentarians.
A similar diktat was issued last month also, but the one issued today is being dubbed as final advise.
