Putting forth the demand through a Special Mention, Shiv Sena member Anil Desai said that while parliamentary proceedings are telecast in the country, a similar mechanism could be followed with respect to courts.

He said that such a system could be first installed in the higher courts and then be gradually expanded to include the lower courts.

Desai said it would save the time of the courts and also ensure other benefits like encouraging more responsible behaviour during proceedings.

Among the other special mentions moved today was a demand by BJP MP Tarun Vijay seeking to name Sainik Schools after Param Veer Chakra honorees.

DMK's Kanimozhi sought relief measures for farmers hit by floods in Tamil Nadu while Balwinder Singh Bhunder of SAD demanded that the names of the victims of the 1984 riots who were attacked at railway stations be made public and asked for compensation for them.

Pankaj Vora of Congress demanded that contingency measures be initiated to protect people from air pollution in Delhi while Motilal Vora of the same party asked that steps be taken to provide a building for the Army school at Mendrakala in Ambikapur of Chhattisgarh.

In his special mention, BJD's AU Singh Deo sought steps to check the appointment of retired Supreme Court judges to government or constitutional posts.
