New Delhi: The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Tuesday accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government of not taking the scams, which have taken place during its tenure, 'seriously'.

"The issues will be taken up in the Parliament because these scams are unprecedented. There are several other issues which need to be raised. We will give notice in Rajya Sabha today asking for suspension of business and discussion of scams. Lalit Modi case is a very serious issue. Besides, IPL corruption is one of the worst corruptions which took place. But there is no indication from the government that they are going to take action on these scams," said CPI leader D Raja.

The Monsoon Session of the Parliament, which is to begin today, is expected to be stormy affair with the opposition set to take on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government over the Lalit Modi row and the Vyapam scam.

HRD Minister Smriti Irani is also expected to be in the spotlight due to a controversy over her educational qualifications.

Yesterday, an all party meeting was called by the Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to ensure smooth proceedings of both the Houses.
