NCW 'paralysed' under Modi government: Mamata Sharma

National Commission for Women has become "paralysed" under the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, its former chairperson Mamata Sharma has alleged.

Bundi: National Commission for Women has become "paralysed" under the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, its former chairperson Mamata Sharma has alleged.

"NCW at New Delhi is now a deserted and isolated place as there is no one to receive you nor anyone to visit the Commission," she said.

"In my tenure, the Commission conducted activities for empowerment of women and security across the nation," Sharma claimed.

She was speaking to mediapersons at her residence here today.

"The complaints were lodged daily and action upon them were taken in my tenure," she said, adding, now NCW is an abandoned and isolated place.

Sharma also said she has spoken to the present chairperson of the Commission about "inactive and paralysed" state of the institute.

The former chairperson also counted the works and achievements of her tenure and said the commission was centre of affairs for women cause and justice during her time.
