Pathankot: A day after the Pathankot Indian Air Force base was attacked by terrorists suspected to be members of Jaish-e-Mohammed, DIG (border) Punjab Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh on Sunday confirmed presence of two more terrorists inside the air base.
"Two terrorists are still believed to be holed-up inside the air base. Fresh firing has been resumed between security forces and terrorists at the area. However, the exact number of terrorists inside the premises remains unclear. We are trying to engage the terrorists and neutralise them. Explosives left by terrorists are being defused," Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, Border Range DIG, was quoted as saying.
Singh also ruled out the report of combing operation being stopped by security forces during the night and said, "The combing operation was not stopped at night. We stayed silent for the entire night. The terrorists resumed firing today."
According to sources, firing is going on at two different locations at the area. The number of casualties has gone up to ten.
