Politicos in India paid tribute to freedom fighter Sukhdev Thappar on his 108th birth anniversary on Friday.

New Delhi: Politicos in India paid tribute to freedom fighter Sukhdev Thappar on his 108th birth anniversary on Friday.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah took on Twitter to extend his greetings.

"Shaheed Sukhdev, a paradigm of tremendous courage, patriotism and sacrifice. I bow and offer my tribute on his Birth anniversary," Shah posted.

Meanwhile, the Congress party also paid tribute to the freedom fighter via Twitter.

"We pay tribute to freedom fighter Sukhdev on his birth anniversary," it tweeted.

Sukhdev Thappar was born in Ludhiana, during the rule of Britishers in India.

Thappar was an accomplice of Bhagat Singh, and Shivaram Rajguru, whose conspiracy led to the assassination of Deputy Superintendent of Police, J . Saunders in 1928 in response to the violent death of a veteran leader, Lala Lajpat Rai.
