New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is set to return from his long sabbatical and will address kisan rally on April 19, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh said on Monday.
The announcement was made by Digvijay even as speculations about Rahul's return from his sabbatical are being made.
Meanwhile, assuring people of his return, Congress president Sonia Gandhi had last week said that Rahul will “come back soon and will be among people.”
The Gandhi scion had gone on “leave of absence” from February 22 apparently to “introspect things” and was speculated to attend the mega kisan rally on April 19.
He did not even attend the Budget Session of Parliament.
Shortly after his return, the decision regarding his elevation to the post of party chief is likely to be taken.
There have been indications that he may take over the mantle of the party as the tenure of Sonia Gandhi as party chief is coming to an end this year.
