Rape complaint filed against Naval officer

Mumbai: The Indian Navy is probing a rape complaint filed against one of its senior officers.

As per reports, a woman has accused the Naval officer of rape and lodged a complaint with the Naval authorities.

The alleged victim has also registered an FIR with the Mumbai Police against officer reportedly based in Mumbai.

Both the Navy and the Mumbai Police are holding separate inquiries into the matter.

Navy Chief Admiral RK Dhowan on Thursday said on the sidelines of an event that they are waiting for “a report to come in and will take necessary action” after that.

Reports meanwhile quoted sources as saying that it might be a case of an alliance gone sour.
