Why Britishers left India in 1947? explains NSA Ajit Doval

New Delhi: Ajit Doval, the incumbent National Security Advisor, had once said that the spark which Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose created within the Indian Army forced Britishers to quit India in 1947.

In a video posted on Youtube, Doval has given a detailed explanation of the main reason as to why the mighty British Empire which, won the Second World War in 1945, decided to quit India in a hurry.

On August 22, 1945, Tokyo Radio announced the 'death' of Netaji in an air crash in Formosa (now Taiwan) on August 18, 1945, en route to Japan.

But the crash theory has been rejected by scores of Netaji's followers and admirers and several claims of the revolutionary leader resurfacing continue to intrigue and divide Indians over the years.

Accepting long-pending demands of family members of Subhas Chandra Bose, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that the Indian government would declassify secret files related to Netaji.

The government will start unveiling the secret files related to Bose from January 23 next year.

Doval, a highly decorated IPS officer of the Kerala Cadre, who retired as the Director of Intelligence Bureau in 2005, has many interesting and daring stories credited to his stint with the Indian spy agency.

For years, Doval has advocated the improvement of internal security capacities and defence in a practical manner. Unlike the past NSAs, who just preferred to look at external issues, Doval concentrates on building India`s internal capacities.
