Meerut: A Uttar Pradesh-based political outfit has threatened to gun down Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid before Durga Ashtami.
Uttar Pradesh Navnirman Sena has threatened to storm the JNU campus and gun down Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid unless the two leave Delhi by March 31, a report in TOI said.
Angry over rape remarks on Indian Army by Kanhaiya Kumar, the UP Navnirman Sena's national president, Amit Jani, posted the threat on Facebook.
"If I can't organise a shootout at JNU, then I will quit politics," Amit Jani said.
Amit Jani added that you can insult me, abuse my family and even condemn my religion but the army is the pride of India.
Kanhaiya Kumar had sparked a controversy on the occasion of International Women's Day as he alleged that some Indian army personnel rape women in Jammu and Kashmir.
Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid were arrested on sedition charges and are currently out on bail.
