Body of missing youth recovered, locals stage protest

Srinagar: Protests rocked Sopore town in Baramulla district on Friday after a body of a missing youth was recovered from a well here, officials said.

The body of Mohammad Yasin Mir (26) was recovered from the well in Wadoora area of Sopore, 55 kms from here, this morning, the officials said.

Mir was missing since March 2.

The local residents took to streets soon after Mir`s body was fished out from the well, they said.

The protestors, who were demanding arrest of the guilty, alleged that police did not make enough efforts to trace the missing youth.

Additional police and paramilitary forces have been rushed to the area to keep the situation under control.
