Jammu: To ensure timely and adequate credit to apple growers in Jammu and Kashmir, a leading bank in the state on Saturday launched `Apple Advance Scheme`.
"We at J&K Bank are committed to provide timely and adequate and hassle-free finances to further the growth and development of our fruit industry especially Kashmiri apples," chairman and CEO J&K Bank Mushtaq Ahmad said while launching the scheme here.
The Apple Advance Scheme ensures adequate credit to cater to "all requirements" of apple growers and other people in the trade under a single window, Ahmed said.
The chairman said the scheme has been designed to meet comprehensive requirements of growers, traders and commission and forwarding agents that include updated production and marketing costs.
Finance for cold storage of the produce is also provided under this scheme.
