New Delhi: The last date to file nominations for the first phase of Assembly polls to be held in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand ends on Wednesday.
The polls will be held in the two states in five phases starting November 25 till December 20.
Counting of votes is scheduled to take place on December 23 and the results are likely to be declared on the same day.
While the Jharkhand Assembly has 81 seats, Jammu and Kashmir has 87 Assembly seats.
The term of Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir Assembly ends on January 3 and 19 next year.
