Two persons found dead under mysterious circumstances in Srinagar, Leh

Two persons, including a resident of Uttar Pradesh, were found dead at separate places in Srinagar and Leh districts of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Friday.

Srinagar: Two persons, including a resident of Uttar Pradesh, were found dead at separate places in Srinagar and Leh districts of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Friday.

Mohammad Sadiq Ali, a resident of Rashinagar in Uttar Pradesh, was found dead in his rented accommodation at Babademb locality in downtown Srinagar this morning, a police spokesman said.

He said police has registered a case and started investigations.

The body of the deceased was handed over to his next of kin for last rites after completion of legal formalities, the spokesman said.

He said police recovered body of an unidentified person from Achinathang village in Leh district of Ladakh region.

A case under section 174 CrPC, related to mysterious death, was registered and investigations are on to ascertain the identity of the deceased and the cause of his death, the spokesman said.
