A junior engineer suffered gun shot injuries after unidentified miscreants fired in Palamu district, police on Sunday said.

Medininagar (Jharkhand): A junior engineer suffered gun shot injuries after unidentified miscreants fired in Palamu district, police on Sunday said.
The incident occurred when the engineer Kumar Gunjan who was posted at Menaka block in the adjoining Latehar district, was returning home in Medininagar from Tisibar on his motorcycle, Superintendent of Police Anup T Mathew told newsmen.

Unidentified miscreants opened four rounds of firing at him when he was approaching the bridge, about 14 kms from the district headquarter Medininagar, he said adding Gunjan received a bullet injury in his left hand.

Profusely bleeding Gunjan was immediately rushed to Sadar Hospital, where was attended by the doctors but was referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi.
