RJD on Tuesday said that the list of candidates contesting the upcoming Jharkhand assembly polls would be announced in the next two days.

Patna: RJD on Tuesday said that the list of
candidates contesting the upcoming Jharkhand assembly polls
would be announced in the next two days.

"The list of candidates and the number of seats the
party would contest in total alliance with the LJP, CPI and
CPI-M would be announced in a couple of days," party national
general secretary Ramdeo Bhandari and state spokesman Shakeel
Ahmed Khan told reporters here.

They said talks regarding contesting the number of
seats with other like-minded parties was almost complete and
would announce the list of candidates for 81 assembly seats in
Jharkhand soon.

A top RJD source said that the party might contest 40
out of 81 assembly seats in Jharkhand.

"We will contest Jharkhand polls in alliance with
secular parties to defeat communal forces in Jharkhand," the
sources added.

The RJD leaders also alleged that Nitish Kumar
government was out to gag the voice of people seeking
information under the Right to Information Act (RTI) while
ridiculing the state government`s decision to hike rates for
seeking information under the Act.
