'Same party govt at Centre and state can't always achieve development'

Rejecting BJP's claims, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday said it is not necessary to have the same party government at Centre and the state to achieve rapid development, while advocating for a strong and stable government.

Pakur: Rejecting BJP's claims, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday said it is not necessary to have the same party government at Centre and the state to achieve rapid development, while advocating for a strong and stable government.

Addressing party workers at the KKM college grounds in Pakur district, Soren said the BJP has been claiming that a same party government at the state and at the Centre would help maintain co-ordination to achieve rapid growth.

"If it was so, which government was in power when Narendra Modi claimed to have achieved rapid development in Gujarat during his tenure as Chief Minister," Soren asked while assuring people that JMM was the only regional party, which could ensure rapid development of the mineral-rich state.

Soren cautioned people that no development would take place as the parties would pass the buck on "compulsions of coalition government."

"As JMM understand the problems of the state and its people and only it can lead the state to the path of development," he claimed.

Accusing the BJP for failing to deliver despite ruling the state for the maximum period, Soren alleged it had only promoted corruption in the state.
