Webcams used to monitor Jharkhand polls for the first time

The Election Commission said its officials used webcam for the first time to monitor two booths in Jharkhand, where fourth phase of assembly polls were held on Saturday.

officials used webcam for the first time to monitor two booths
in Jharkhand, where fourth phase of assembly polls were held
on Saturday.
"The webcam were installed at two booths - numbers 199
and 263 under Potka assembly constituency enabling the EC
officials to observe the proceedings of the polling," Chief
Electoral Officer A K Sinha said here.
"This is the first such instance in the country. We will
also install them in some other booths during the fifth and
final phase of polling on December 18," he said.
