Top IPS officer suspended in Bangalore over lottery racket links

The Karnataka government has suspended Bangalore's Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Alok Kumar for his alleged links with the alleged operator of an illegal lottery business.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has suspended Bangalore's Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Alok Kumar for his alleged links with the alleged operator of an illegal lottery business.

The CID report has accused Kumar of trying to prevent the arrest of one Pari Rajan, who is allegedly a key player in the racket.

However, the ACP has denied the charges levelled against him saying that he had no clue about Rajan's involvement in the scam.

According to reports, Kumar has been suspended because the CID report said that the former had called up a sub-inspector a few days ago and asked him not to arrest Rajan.
