Mumbai University Vice Chancellor designate Dr Sanjay Deshmukh today said he would work towards making the varsity one of the best in the world during his five-year term.

Thane: Mumbai University Vice Chancellor designate Dr Sanjay Deshmukh today said he would work towards making the varsity one of the best in the world during his five-year term.

     Deshmukh who was speaking at a felicitation function in Shreerang Society where he resides, immediately after his name was announced by the Governor last evening said he was aware that he has been given an important assignment and he would live up to the expectations of one and all.

     He said he would ensure that students from his university compete on the global level and feel proud to be its alumni.

     Deshmukh said he was not a supporter of any (political) party and claimed that he was inducted on the basis of merit in accordance with the rules and selection norms.

     The Phd holder paid rich tributes to his teacher SV Kulkarni on the occasion and dedicated his success to the staff.

     His school teacher Kumudini Ballal felicitated him and narrated her experience during his school days and said he was a disciplined student.

     Advocate Madhavi Naik, President of the State BJP womens wing welcomed the guests. BJP corporator and former Deputy Mayor Milind Patankar also spoke on the occasion.
