PM Modi may visit Wardha, Nagpur on August 21

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Nagpur and the neighbouring district of Wardha on August 21 on his maiden visit to the Vidarbha region for a couple of events here, sources said here on Wednesday night.

Nagpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Nagpur and the neighbouring district of Wardha on August 21 on his maiden visit to the Vidarbha region for a couple of events here, sources said here on Wednesday night.

"Modi will visit Deoli, about 30 km from the district headquarters to inaugurate the 765/400 KV sub-station of public sector undertaking powergrid," Wardha MP Ramdas Tadas said.

Modi is also scheduled to inaugurate a newly constructed road at Tuljapur in Wardha district, he said. In Nagpur, Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the prestigious Nagpur Metro Rail project which would connect Nagpur-North with Nagpur-South and be extended to the Butibori industrial area.

The local office of Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the event is likely to be on August 21.
